Notre Dame Unveils 2026 Shamrock Series Uniforms for Lambeau Field Opener
Comcast Corporation-owned NBC will broadcast a unique neutral-site matchup in 2026, as Notre Dame revealed the uniforms for its Shamrock Series game against Wisconsin. The contest is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 6, marking the 13th edition of the event and the first time it will be held at Lambeau Field.
The uniform design blends Notre Dame’s history with Green Bay Packers tradition. The base color is a deep blue intended to honor the 1920s Acme Packers, while striping details incorporate elements of the modern Packers uniform. The jersey’s back collar features 11 shamrocks, a nod to the program’s 11 consensus national championships. Additionally, the jersey numbers draw inspiration from the Paul Hornung era, celebrating the former Notre Dame Heisman Trophy winner who became a Packers icon and won Super Bowl I with the team. An American flag patch above the heart honors the nation’s 250th anniversary.
Lambeau Field holds specific historical significance for both programs. Founded by Curly Lambeau, a former Notre Dame player, the venue has hosted only two previous college football games: St. Norbert vs. Fordham in 1983 and Wisconsin vs. LSU in 2016. This matchup will be the first Shamrock Series game since 2024, continuing Notre Dame’s perfect 12-0 record in the series. The Irish hold a 9-2-6 all-time lead against the Badgers, with the most recent meeting resulting in a 41-13 Notre Dame victory at Soldier Field in 2021.
From a market perspective, the game highlights the sports media assets of Comcast Corporation. As the parent company of NBC, Comcast continues to leverage high-profile college football inventory to drive viewership across its broadcast and streaming platforms. Shares of CMCSA were recently trading at $23.19.
