Philadelphia Phillies interim manager Don Mattingly may have inadvertently revealed the lineup for the upcoming 2026 MLB Home Run Derby. Following the team’s 1-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on July 9, Mattingly expressed enthusiasm about Bryce Harper participating in the event, suggesting that slugger Kyle Schwarber would also join him.

“I’m glad he’s doing it, especially in Philly. Him and Kyle both, right?” Mattingly told reporters, according to the source release.

The remark immediately raised questions, as Schwarber has not publicly committed to the event. Mattingly quickly attempted to clarify his statement, noting uncertainty about Schwarber’s status and suggesting the player might be waiting to confirm his physical condition.
