Stroudsburg Teen Advances to ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Regionals on NBC
A 16-year-old athlete from Stroudsburg High School is making her mark on the national stage. Grace Carr has successfully advanced to the Eastern Regional Finals of NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” after completing a qualifying run on July 6. Carr is now set to appear in the regional round, scheduled for broadcast on Monday, July 13, at 9 p.m. ET.
Carr’s journey into the world of competitive obstacle course racing began at a young age. After years of watching the show, she started training at Freedom Gymnastics and Obstacle Training in Brodheadsville. While she initially participated in traditional sports like soccer and basketball, she found her true passion in ninja warrior competitions. Recognizing her talent, she eventually moved her training to Next Level Ninja in Flemington, New Jersey, a facility owned by veteran competitor Abby Clark, who has served as Carr’s coach.
The broadcast of Carr’s performance highlights the broader media strategy of the network carrying the event. NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comcast Corporation, relies on high-engagement live programming and competition shows to drive viewership. Comcast’s Media segment is a critical component of its diversified portfolio, which includes Residential Connectivity & Platforms, Business Services Connectivity, Studios, and Theme Parks.
For viewers tuning in, Carr will be featured playing the snare drum during her introduction, a nod to her involvement in the Stroudsburg High School marching band. She described the experience of taping in Las Vegas and stepping onto the starting platform as the realization of a lifelong dream.
