FIFA Rankings Align with Fox Sports’ World Cup Semifinal Lineup

The 2026 World Cup tournament has narrowed to a final four that represents a high-stakes scenario for broadcasters, with the top-ranked global programs facing off in the knockout rounds. As the semifinals approach, the remaining squads—France, Argentina, Spain, and England—hold the highest standings in world football, setting the stage for a competitive conclusion to the event.

According to the most recent FIFA world rankings, the four teams remaining in the competition are also the four highest-ranked nations still in contention. France sits at the No. 1 spot, followed closely by Argentina at No. 2. Spain holds the third position, while England rounds out the top four. This alignment ensures that the matches on the schedule will feature marquee matchups, which typically drive significant viewership interest.

Fox Corporation, the domestic rights holder for the World Cup, stands to air these pivotal games. The company’s stock was recently trading at $55.67, reflecting a 2.8% increase from the previous close of $54.15. With a market capitalization of approximately $23.46 billion, Fox operates within the Communication Services sector and relies on major sporting events to bolster its Cable Network Programming and Television segments. The company’s broadcast schedule is set to showcase the semifinals, the third-place match, and the final across its network.

The upcoming schedule features two semifinal matchups. On July 14, France will face Spain in Dallas at 3 p.m. Eastern. The following day, July 15, England will take on Argentina in Atlanta, also at 3 p.m. Eastern. The tournament will conclude with the third-place match in Miami on July 18 at 5 p.m., followed by the World Cup Final on July 19 at 3 p.m. in the New York/New Jersey area.
