IndyCar Drivers Visit White House to Promote Freedom 250 Grand Prix

Top drivers from the NTT IndyCar Series gathered at the White House on Monday, July 13, for a promotional event ahead of the upcoming Freedom 250 Grand Prix. The occasion featured a ceremony on West Executive Avenue and a special visit with President Donald J. Trump, highlighting the intersection of motorsports and political patriotism.

The delegation included reigning series champion Alex Palou of Chip Ganassi Racing, Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist of Meyer Shank Racing, and Team Penske driver David Malukas. They were joined by Roger Penske, the founder and chairman of Penske Corporation, alongside other industry leaders such as Fox Corporation CEO Eric Shanks and General Motors President Mark Reuss.

During the public ceremony, Team Penske’s pit crew performed a demonstration outside the West Wing. Palou presented the President with a racing helmet commemorating the event, which is set to take place on the National Mall in August as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations. Following the presentation, the drivers received a tour of the White House and the Oval Office.

Palou described the experience as surreal, noting that walking through the historic rooms felt like a scene from a movie. He also highlighted a moment when Malukas performed a burnout during the pit stop demonstration, leaving tire marks on the White House grounds.

The presence of Fox Corporation leadership underscores the media significance of the event. As the parent company of FOX Sports, Fox Corporation holds the broadcasting rights for major sporting events. In mid-day trading, Fox Corporation shares were up 3.23%, with the stock priced at $55.90. The company holds a market capitalization of approximately $23.46 billion and operates within the Communication Services sector.

The Freedom 250 Grand Prix is scheduled for August 22 and 23, serving as the fifteenth round of the 2026 IndyCar Series calendar.
