AL Pitching Dominates 2026 Midsummer Classic; Fox Broadcasts Showcase

The American League secured a decisive 4-0 victory over the National League in the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, held at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The contest was defined by stellar pitching performances from the AL staff, who stifled a lineup featuring National League stars Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber.

Dylan Cease started the game for the AL, striking out three batters in the first inning while engaging with the Fox Corporation broadcast booth. The AL bullpen continued the dominance, with Parker Messick, Michael Wacha, Nick Martinez, Cade Smith, Jacob Latz, and Aroldis Chapman combining to keep the NL hitless for significant stretches. Joe Ryan and Louis Varland allowed the only NL hits, a single to Juan Soto and a base hit to Pete Crow-Armstrong, respectively. Former Baltimore Orioles pitcher Bryan Baker closed out the ninth inning for the save.

Offensively, the Yankees provided the early spark. In the first inning against NL starter Cristopher Sánchez, Cody Bellinger hit a two-run single, and Ben Rice added an RBI single to give the AL a 3-0 lead. Miguel Vargas extended the lead with a home run later in the game.

Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman, the team’s sole All-Star representative, entered the game as a defensive replacement in the seventh inning. In his only at-bat, he grounded out against Dodgers pitcher Justin Wrobleski. Rutschman earned the nod after a first half where he slashed .253/.327/.436, marking a return to form after an injury-plagued 2025 season.

The event served as a significant showcase for Fox Corporation, which operates the Cable Network Programming segment responsible for producing and licensing sports content. The company’s stock was trading at $54.87 on the day, reflecting a market capitalization of approximately $23.47 billion.

What to watch

  • Future earnings reports from Fox Corporation regarding viewership ratings for the All-Star Game.
  • Updates on Adley Rutschman’s performance in the second half of the season as he remains under team control through 2027.
