Fox Sports Set to Broadcast Nashville IndyCar Race amid Palou’s Championship Push

The IndyCar Series is set to return to the Nashville Superspeedway for the Music City Grand Prix, a 300-lap event on the 1.33-mile tri-oval. As the season narrows, Alex Palou holds a significant advantage in the standings with seven races remaining, aiming for a fourth consecutive championship. The competition will likely be fierce from Josef Newgarden, the Tennessee native who claimed victory at this event in 2025 and has secured two short-oval wins in 2026.

On-track action is scheduled to begin on Saturday, July 18. Practice sessions for the IndyCar Series will air on FS1 at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., sandwiching an Indy NXT practice session. Qualifying to determine the starting grid is set for 3 p.m. on Fox. Support series races and additional practice will continue into Sunday, leading up to the main event.

The green flag for the IndyCar race is scheduled for 5:40 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 19, with television coverage beginning at 5:35 p.m. The broadcast will be carried by Fox Corporation. The broadcast team features Will Buxton on play-by-play, alongside analysts James Hinchcliffe and Townsend Bell. Pit reporting duties will be handled by Georgia Henneberry, Kevin Lee, and Jack Harvey.

Fox Corporation, listed under the ticker FOXA, focuses heavily on sports broadcasting within its Cable Network Programming segment. The company produces and licenses news and sports content, with events like the IndyCar series serving as key components of its live sports programming strategy. As of the latest market check, Fox Corporation was trading up 1.36% from the previous close.
