The agreement designates Peacock as the exclusive home of Sunday Night Baseball, while NBC Sports will broadcast the MLB Sunday Leadoff, Opening Day, and Labor Day primetime games. The deal extends to postseason coverage, encompassing the entire Wild Card round, as well as the first round of the MLB Draft.

This media rights expansion places Comcast Corporation at the center of the baseball broadcasting landscape. As the parent company of NBCUniversal and Peacock, Comcast stands to bolster its content portfolio through this partnership. Currently, Comcast Corporation has a market capitalization of approximately $85.63 billion. In recent trading, the stock was priced at $23.77, reflecting a decline of 1.43% from the previous close of $24.12.

On the field, the midway point of the season has prompted adjustments in fantasy baseball valuations. Updated rest-of-season rankings for 5×5 mixed leagues highlight Houston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez as the top overall player. He is followed by Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. and Los Angeles Angels designated hitter Shohei Ohtani.

The rankings also indicate a resurgence for Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Atlanta Braves, who has climbed back into the top 10, settling at the ninth spot. Other notable movers include Washington Nationals outfielder James Wood, who rose to eighth overall, and Detroit Tigers pitcher Tarik Skubal, now ranked sixth.
