Celtics Reveal 2026-27 Preseason Slate, Set Oct. 10 Date for Jaylen Brown’s Return

The Boston Celtics have finalized their four-game preseason itinerary for the 2026-27 NBA campaign, setting the stage for a significant narrative involving a recently traded franchise cornerstone. The schedule opens on the road on Oct. 8 against the Cleveland Cavaliers before the team returns to TD Garden for a highly anticipated matchup.

On Oct. 10, Boston is scheduled to host the Philadelphia 76ers. This game marks the first time the Celtics will face Jaylen Brown following his off-season move to Philadelphia. The trade, orchestrated by President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens, sent Brown to the 76ers in exchange for star forward Paul George and draft capital. Stevens previously indicated the transaction was driven by a need to manage the team’s salary cap and secure future financial flexibility.

Following the visit from the 76ers, Boston will remain at home to face the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 14. The preseason slate concludes with a return matchup against the 76ers in Philadelphia on Oct. 16. Broadcast coverage for all four contests will be carried live on NBC Sports Boston, with select games also airing on 98.5 The Sports Hub.

The broadcast partner for these games, NBC Sports Boston, is owned by Comcast Corporation. As of the latest market check, Comcast Corporation is trading at $23.875. The media and technology giant, which operates through segments including Residential Connectivity & Platforms and Media, holds a market capitalization of approximately $85.63 billion.

Tickets for the team’s two home preseason dates at TD Garden will become available to the public starting Wednesday, July 22, at 1 p.m. via the team’s official website.
