Richardson Captures Third U.S. 100m Title at 2026 Championships

Sprinter Comcast Corporation-backed athlete Sha’Carri Richardson reclaimed the top spot on the podium, securing the women’s 100-meter title at the 2026 USA Track and Field Championships. Competing at Icahn Stadium on July 24, Richardson clocked a season-best 10.77 seconds to finish ahead of Kayla White (10.90) and Tamari Davis (11.00).

The victory adds to Richardson’s growing list of accolades, making her only the second woman to win three U.S. 100-meter titles since 2000. This performance follows a silver medal finish at the 2024 Paris Olympics and a world championship win in 2023. Richardson entered the meet as the favorite after training partner Melissa Jefferson-Wooden opted to concentrate solely on the 200-meter event.

The event was broadcast across platforms managed by Comcast Corporation, specifically Peacock and NBCSN. Comcast’s stock is currently trading at $22.30, up 1.11% from the previous close, with a market capitalization of approximately $84.95 billion. The media giant’s coverage of major sporting events remains a key component of its content strategy within the Communication Services sector.

Running from lane five, Richardson executed a strong start, pulling level with the field by the 40-meter mark before accelerating to a comfortable lead. She noted post-race that her physical and mental health have significantly improved, attributing her success to consistent effort. Her personal best of 10.65 remains tied for the seventh-fastest time in history.

What to watch

  • Richardson’s next competitive appearances as the season progresses toward international meets.
  • Future viewership numbers for Comcast’s Peacock and NBCSN during major track and field broadcasts.
