NASCAR Pauses for Break Before 14-Race Sprint to Season Finale

Auto racing stakeholders are observing a quiet weekend as all three national series are currently idle. This pause arrives just ahead of the final month of the regular season, serving as a brief respite before a grueling stretch run.

Once competition resumes, the Comcast Corporation-owned NASCAR Cup Series will face a demanding schedule. The circuit is set to race for 14 consecutive weekends, culminating with the season finale in November. The action picks up next week with the Iowa Corn 350 at Iowa Speedway, while the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series also returns to action at the same venue.

The upcoming race at Iowa Speedway on Aug. 9 is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. Central start. The event marks a shift in broadcasting strategy, as it will be the first Cup race televised by USA Network this season. Moving forward, USA Network is slated to carry 10 of the final 14 races. Meanwhile, NBC is set to broadcast the regular-season finale at Daytona as well as the final three races of the Chase.

The downtime follows a dramatic Brickyard 400, where Corey Heim secured his second victory of the year. Heim claimed the win by navigating the final restart against Denny Hamlin and holding off challenges from Christopher Bell and Joey Logano.

As the series prepares for the intense final stretch, the regular season concludes with four races remaining, all taking place in August.
