A Pennsylvania educator known as the “Kindergarten Ninja” recently returned to competition on NBC’s *American Ninja Warrior*. Chad Riddle, a principal in the Hempfield School District and former York County teacher, completed his qualifying run on the episode airing Aug. 3, securing a spot in the Regional Finals.

Riddle, 37, previously competed on the show in 2018. His recent appearance follows the death of his wife, Caitlin, from Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Riddle shared that his wife encouraged him to compete one last time before she passed away. During the broadcast, he was shown holding a stone containing his wife’s ashes before passing it to his son, Aaron, for safekeeping prior to his run.

While Riddle ultimately fell into the water before hitting the buzzer, his progress was sufficient to advance. He navigated through the fifth obstacle to qualify for the next round. The run highlighted themes of resilience for his students, demonstrating the ability to recover after a fall.
