Audacy Secures Exclusive Rights to Matthew Berry’s Fantasy Football Podcast
Audacy has entered a strategic partnership to manage audio sales and distribution for Fantasy Football Happy Hour with Matthew Berry. The agreement comes as the show transitions from its previous home at NBC Sports, relocating to Audacy’s platform alongside Berry’s personal YouTube channel.
Co-produced by Berry’s venture, Fantasy Life, the podcast aims to provide daily content for fantasy sports enthusiasts. New episodes are scheduled to debut every weekday through the Super Bowl, with a shift to a weekly cadence during the offseason. Berry emphasized the necessity of consistent engagement for his audience, a priority he believes Audacy’s reach in sports audio will support.
Leah Reis-Dennis, Head of Podcasts at Audacy, highlighted Berry’s status as a leading figure in fantasy sports media. She noted that the addition of his brand to Audacy’s lineup creates further avenues for advertisers to connect with a dedicated listener base.
The move follows Berry’s departure from NBC’s Football Night in America. NBC Sports is operated by Comcast Corporation, which currently has a market capitalization of approximately $87.15 billion. The media giant’s stock was down 0.69% in the current session, trading near the $24.53 mark.
For Audacy, securing a premier fantasy football property enhances its sports audio offerings just ahead of the NFL regular season. The collaboration allows Berry to expand the show’s distribution while leveraging Audacy’s sales infrastructure.
