Comcast’s NBC to Kick Off NFL Preseason with Hall of Fame Game
The National Football League preseason officially begins this week with the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. The matchup, scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 6, will serve as the opening act for the league’s slate of exhibition games and will be broadcast nationally.
This year’s contest features the Comcast Corporation-owned NBC network as the television home. The game is set to air live at 8 p.m. ET from Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium, providing the first on-field look at rookie talent and roster depth for the participating teams.
The on-field matchup will pit the Arizona Cardinals against the Carolina Panthers. The Cardinals are making their sixth appearance in the Hall of Fame game and will serve as the designated “home” team. The game holds particular significance for both franchises, as each will be represented in the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026. Former Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and former Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly are set to be formally enshrined during the weekend’s ceremonies.
For viewers, the game will be available via traditional broadcast on NBC. Streaming options for the event include Peacock, the streaming service operated by Comcast’s NBCUniversal. This continues the trend of NFL preseason action being utilized to drive engagement across both linear television and digital streaming platforms.
Comcast’s stock recently traded at $24.75, giving the company a market capitalization of approximately $87.15 billion. As a diversified media and technology giant, Comcast relies on live sports programming like the NFL to maintain viewership levels across its Residential Connectivity & Platforms and Media segments.
