He received a 0.3 deduction for a non-conforming uniform and an additional 0.3 for an incorrect salute following his pommel horse routine. The reigning Olympic and world championships bronze medalist is seeking his first U.S. all-around crown after finishing as the runner-up in both 2024 and 2025. Notably, the champions from those previous years, Brody Malone and Asher Hong, are not participating in this year’s event.

Leykin, who finished 10th in his senior debut last year, is applying pressure on the leader. His performance is bolstered by his experience at the 2025 World Junior Championships, where he took home three medals. His rise highlights the emerging generation of male gymnasts looking toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

In other action, Stephen Nedoroscik successfully completed his pommel horse routine with a score of 14.958. Competing while managing a left shoulder injury, Nedoroscik trails Patrick Hoopes, who posted a 15.641 on the apparatus.

The event continues on Friday with the start of the women’s competition. The action is scheduled to air live at 10 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN. Peacock is a streaming service operated by Comcast Corporation, which trades under the ticker CMCSA.
