Blakely and Pease Share Lead at Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships

Two days of competition remain at the Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, where the women’s all-around race has tightened considerably. Following the completion of the first day, Skye Blakely and Claire Pease find themselves deadlocked at the top of the leaderboard with matching scores of 55.6 points.

The competition serves as a critical evaluation point for athletes targeting future international assignments. Close behind the leaders is Charleigh Bullock, who sits in third place with a total of 55.4 points, just two-tenths of a point off the lead. Bullock remains in a strong position to make history; a victory on the final day would make her the first gymnast to win the senior all-around title in her debut season since Simone Biles accomplished the feat in 2013.

For Blakely, the performance marks a significant step in her return to elite all-around competition. The 21-year-old Florida junior is competing in the all-around for the first time since rupturing an Achilles tendon just prior to the Olympic Trials in 2024. That injury occurred when she was a contender for the Olympic team, having previously served as the all-around runner-up to Biles at the 2024 U.S. Championships.

Pease, 17, is also navigating a return to form. After winning the U.S. Classic in 2025, she struggled at the subsequent nationals and missed selection for the World Championships due to an ankle sprain. Her current standing puts her in contention to improve upon that 10th-place finish.

The event also saw drama involving reigning champion Hezly Rivera. The 2024 Olympic team gold medalist and 2025 all-around champion was in the mix for the lead until a fall on the uneven bars during the third rotation derailed her bid.

The event is being broadcast across platforms owned by Comcast Corporation. The second and final day of women’s competition is scheduled for Sunday at 6 p.m. ET, airing on NBC and Peacock. Meanwhile, the men’s competition will conclude on Saturday evening at 7:30 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN.

Comcast shares were trading higher on Friday, last up roughly 0.96% to $25.36. The media and technology giant, which holds a market capitalization of approximately $87.15 billion, utilizes these events to drive engagement across its connectivity and media segments.

What to watch
