Cowboys’ Flournoy Aims to Forge New Legacy with No. 19 in 2026

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy is looking to establish a fresh tradition in franchise history as he enters the 2026 season. Speaking to reporters following Monday’s practice in Oxnard, California, the third-year pass-catcher discussed the significance of wearing jersey number 19, a number previously worn by notable playmakers Miles Austin and Amari Cooper.

Flournoy expressed his desire to create a similar legacy for the No. 19 to that of the famed No. 88 lineage in Dallas. While the No. 88 jersey—worn by Drew Pearson, Michael Irvin, Dez Bryant, and current star CeeDee Lamb—represents a standard of excellence including multiple Super Bowl titles and Pro Bowl selections, Flournoy intends to build his own history with his current number. He cited the contributions of Austin, a two-time Pro Bowler, and Cooper, who logged over 3,800 receiving yards in four seasons with the team, as inspirations for his choice.

The path to a significant role in the offense has been a gradual process for Flournoy. Originally selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, he recorded just 102 yards across 11 appearances during his rookie campaign. After being waived and subsequently re-signed to the practice squad in August 2025, he earned a promotion back to the active roster in September. That move proved pivotal, as Flournoy finished the 2025 season with 40 receptions for 475 yards and four touchdowns, ranking fourth on the team in catches and yards.

Now, heading into the 2026 season under head coach Brian Schottenheimer, Flournoy has secured a spot as the team’s primary third option behind All-Pro receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. The organization will rely on his continued development as it seeks offensive production in the highly competitive NFC East.

The Cowboys operate under the umbrella of Comcast Corporation, the media and technology conglomerate. As of the latest market check, Comcast Corporation (CMCSA) was trading at $25.36, reflecting a slight increase of 0.96% from the previous close. The company holds a market capitalization of approximately $87.15 billion and remains a key player in the Communication Services sector.
