Peacock to Premiere Documentary on Miami University’s Legendary Coaching Tree

A new documentary highlighting the history of Miami University’s football program is set to debut on the streaming service Peacock later this month. The film, titled Cradle of Coaches, explores the university’s reputation for producing some of the most influential leaders in the sport, spanning both collegiate and professional levels.

Produced by RESLV in conjunction with NBCUniversal, the documentary is scheduled for exclusive release on Aug. 17. It aims to detail the history and achievements of the coaches who trace their roots to the Ohio-based university. Miami University’s program is historically distinct for its focus on sideline leadership rather than specific positions, earning it the “Cradle of Coaches” moniker.

The narrative covers a lineage of notable figures, including Super Bowl-winning coaches Sean McVay, John Harbaugh, and Weeb Ewbank. The roster also features Hall of Famers such as Paul Brown, Ara Parseghian, Woody Hayes, and Bo Schembechler. The production includes interviews with a wide array of football personalities, such as Ben Roethlisberger, Lou Holtz, Chris Berman, and Dick LeBeau.

David Sayler, the athletic director at Miami University, noted that the project involved capturing first-hand accounts from individuals who played for and worked alongside these legends over the last century. Scott Thompson, director and founder of RESLV, emphasized that the documentary focuses on the lasting legacy and leadership impact of these coaches on the game.

The release comes as Comcast Corporation, the parent company of NBCUniversal and Peacock, continues to build its content library. In the market today, Comcast is trading at $25.36, up 0.96% from the previous close, with a market capitalization of approximately $87.15 billion.
