USA Network to Broadcast NASCAR Cup Series Iowa Corn 350 as Playoff Race Tightens

The NASCAR Cup Series resumes competition this weekend following a brief hiatus, heading to Iowa Speedway for the Iowa Corn 350. With only four regular-season races remaining before the Chase, the grid is tightening for the final playoff spots.

Currently, Austin Cindric holds a precarious 38-point lead over Ryan Preece for the last qualification position in the Chase. Meanwhile, four drivers—Denny Hamlin, Tyler Reddick, Ryan Blaney, and Ty Gibbs—have already secured their places in the post-season.

Broadcasting duties for the 350-lap event at the 0.875-mile oval in Newton, Iowa, will be handled by USA Network. This provides visibility for the race through the NBCUniversal portfolio, which is owned by Comcast Corporation. As of the latest market check, Comcast shares were trading at $25.36, up approximately 0.96% from the previous close.

Viewers looking for alternative viewing methods can stream the full broadcast feed and access in-car cameras via the HBO MAX app, though a subscription is required. Audio coverage will be available on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM.

The green flag is scheduled to wave at approximately 2:40 p.m. CT on Sunday, August 9. The race is divided into three stages: 70 laps, 140 laps, and a final 140-lap segment to determine the winner.

What to watch

  • Performance of Ryan Preece starting from the 35th position as he attempts to close the 38-point gap.
  • Viewership metrics for the broadcast on USA Network, a key asset for Comcast’s Media segment.
