Comcast’s NBC Sports Bay Area to Broadcast Giants-Astros Clash

The San Francisco Giants are set to host the Houston Astros tonight at Oracle Park for the middle game of a three-game series. The matchup will be available regionally through NBC Sports Bay Area, a network owned by Comcast Corporation. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. PT.

On the mound for the Giants will be left-hander Carson Whisenhunt. The pitcher brings a 7.25 ERA and 5.64 FIP into the contest, having recorded 20 strikeouts against 15 walks over 22.1 innings pitched. In his previous outing, Whisenhunt lasted three and a third innings against the Texas Rangers, surrendering four runs on five hits.

Houston will counter with right-hander Hunter Brown. He holds a 3.53 ERA and 4.33 FIP for the season, with 63 strikeouts and 32 walks across 58.2 innings. Brown’s last start resulted in a no-decision against the Toronto Blue Jays, where he gave up three runs on three hits over six frames while recording eight strikeouts.

The broadcast highlights the content distribution arm of Comcast’s Media segment. As the parent company of NBC Sports Bay Area, Comcast Corporation relies on regional sports networks to drive viewership and subscription value within its Residential Connectivity & Platforms ecosystem. Shares of Comcast were trading at $25.65 during the current session, representing a 1.83% increase from the previous close.

The Giants enter Game #120 of the season with a 49-70 record, while the Astros hold a 61-59 mark.
