This matchup marks a sentimental return for the All-Star guard. His final appearance at Hilton Coliseum ended prematurely due to a wrist injury during his sophomore season. While he has returned to the area for personal milestones since turning professional, this contest represents his first opportunity to play on the court in an NBA uniform. Haliburton expressed appreciation toward the Pacers organization for facilitating the event and noted the connection with the Timberwolves, whose G League affiliate is based in Iowa.

Beyond the preseason opener, details regarding the Pacers’ regular-season slate are beginning to emerge ahead of the full NBA schedule release. The team has confirmed its participation in the upcoming NBA Cup tournament.
