The Baltimore Ravens have adjusted their quarterback room ahead of the regular season, placing Skylar Thompson on injured reserve. The move comes as the team navigates roster decisions at the Under Armour Performance Center, the training facility named for the Under Armour, Inc. subsidiary.

While injured reserve designations during the preseason often result in a season-ending status, head coach Jesse Minter previously characterized the ailment as minor. Industry precedent suggests this move likely precedes an injury settlement, which would allow Thompson to depart the organization and sign with another club once healthy.

Thompson, 29, had been competing for the role of the primary backup behind established starter Lamar Jackson. To fill the void on the depth chart, the Ravens worked out four quarterbacks—Trevor Siemian, Jake Haener, Clayton Tune, and Austin Reed—ultimately signing Reed. The new addition brings familiarity with offensive coordinator Declan Doyle’s system from their time together with the Chicago Bears.

The roster churn also highlights the standing of undrafted rookie Joey Fagnano. Having secured a spot in camp over former Heisman Trophy winner Diego Pavia, Fagnano remains on the roster and is now positioned to compete for the third-string role.
