NBC Expands NBA Coverage With Presidents Day Quadrupleheader
Comcast Corporation continues to leverage its media rights with an ambitious basketball scheduling strategy. The company, through its NBC and Peacock platforms, announced a four-game slate for Presidents Day 2027. This marks the first time the league has scheduled a quadrupleheader on the federal holiday, a strategic move aimed at capturing sports viewership immediately following Super Bowl LXI.
The new holiday showcase is part of a broader effort by the league to secure high-visibility windows outside of the traditional Christmas Day lineup, particularly as the NFL dominates the winter sports landscape. The Presidents Day games will feature several marquee matchups, headlined by a duel between Victor Wembanyama and Giannis Antetokounmpo as the San Antonio Spurs visit the Miami Heat.
The schedule tips off with LaMelo Ball returning to Charlotte to face the Hornets as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The afternoon window includes a contest featuring LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers against the Dallas Mavericks. The primetime finale will showcase a battle of point guards between Tyrese Haliburton’s Indiana Pacers and Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors.
In addition to the Presidents Day initiative, the network will also host a Martin Luther King Jr. Day quadrupleheader. That lineup includes matchups between the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers, the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks, the Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks, and the Houston Rockets facing the Memphis Grizzlies.
Broadcast coverage will see the first three games of each holiday slate airing on both NBC and Peacock at 12 p.m. ET, 2:30 p.m. ET, and 5 p.m. ET. The final game of each quadrupleheader is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be carried primarily on Peacock, with linear television availability on NBCSN.
