Fox Sports Bolsters Digital Roster with Ringer NFL Writer

Fox Corporation is strengthening its sports journalism arm. NFL writer Steven Ruiz is exiting Spotify-owned The Ringer to join Fox Sports digital, according to reports.

Fox Sports representatives did not provide a public comment regarding the appointment. Ruiz confirmed his departure from The Ringer on social media Friday, marking the end of a three-year tenure at the outlet. He originally joined the Bill Simmons-founded publication from USA Today in 2021.

In his transition to Fox, Ruiz will contribute to a digital team that already features established NFL reporters such as Greg Auman and Henry McKenna. The move comes during a busy period for sports media staffing. Earlier this week, The Ringer announced the recruitment of Tom Pelissero, previously of NFL Network, to serve as the platform’s lead league insider and podcast host.

Fox Corporation, which maintains a market capitalization of approximately $29.06 billion, operates the Fox Sports network alongside its news and television broadcasting segments. The company’s stock has seen an uptick, currently trading at $69.03, representing a 2.12% increase from the previous close of $67.60.
