Fox Sports is bolstering its digital sports coverage with the addition of NFL writer Steven Ruiz. Ruiz is departing The Ringer, the sports and pop culture outlet owned by Spotify, to join the Fox Sports digital team, according to reports from Front Office Sports.

Ruiz publicly announced his departure from The Ringer on Friday, expressing gratitude for his time at the publication. He originally joined the outlet in 2021 after previously writing for USA Today’s For the Win blog. In his announcement, he praised the editorial team and specifically highlighted the mentorship he received over the last five years.

At Fox Sports, Ruiz joins a growing lineup of journalists covering professional football. He will be part of a roster that already includes established NFL reporters such as Greg Auman and Henry McKenna. A representative for Fox Sports declined to comment on the appointment.
