Sling TV to Stream IndyCar’s Freedom 250 Grand Prix in Washington, D.C.

The NTT IndyCar Series is set to bring high-speed racing to the nation’s capital this weekend for the Freedom 250 Grand Prix. Round 15 of the 2026 season will take place on a temporary street circuit surrounding the National Mall in Washington, D.C., held in partnership with the White House Task Force on Celebrating America’s 250th birthday. The event represents a significant expansion of the racing calendar into a major metropolitan market.

Broadcast coverage of the race is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 23, with the green flag waving at 1 p.m. ET. The event will be televised live on the FOX network. For viewers looking to stream the action via digital platforms, Sling TV will carry the broadcast through its Sling Blue and Sling Select tiers, which include FOX in their channel lineups. The Sling Select package, featuring networks such as FOX Sports and ABC alongside other entertainment channels, starts at $29.99 per month.

The availability of FOX on Sling Blue is dependent on the viewer’s local television market. The streaming option provides an alternative for cord-cutters looking to access the motorsport event without a traditional cable subscription. The race marks a unique collaboration between the racing series and federal task forces celebrating the United States semiquincentennial.

Fox Corporation (FOXA) recently saw its shares trade at $68.54, up 1.39% from the previous close. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $29.06 billion. Meanwhile, Comcast Corporation (CMCSA), the parent company of NBCUniversal which holds media rights to other major sports properties, is currently trading at $26.84. Comcast shares gained 1.85% today, giving the telecom and media giant a market cap of roughly $90.74 billion.
