Wyndham Clark Secures Third Victory of 2026 Season at BMW Championship
Wyndham Clark has strengthened his case for the PGA Tour Player of the Year award by capturing the 2026 BMW Championship. This victory marks the sixth of his career and his third this season. A key factor in his performance was the flat stick, as Clark relied on a Ping Scottsdale TEC Ally Blue Onset CB putter to navigate the greens.
Clark finished the tournament ranked sixth in Strokes Gained: Putting, averaging nearly 100 feet of made putts per round. The win continues a successful trend for the golfer with this specific equipment. Clark initially switched to the Scottsdale TEC in March at the Texas Children’s Houston Open and later moved to a heavier, counterbalanced version at the RBC Heritage in April.
His success with the putter led to a significant endorsement development. Prior to his U.S. Open win in June, Clark signed a putter-only contract with Ping. This agreement was notable for the manufacturer, representing its first putter-exclusive deal with a tour player in over five decades. The contract ensured Clark would continue gaming the club he had already grown comfortable with during the season.
Entering the year, Clark was a free agent in the equipment space after his previous deal with Acushnet Holdings Corp. expired at the end of 2025. He experimented with various putters early in the season before settling on the Ping model. While the putter remained unchanged, Clark did adjust his TaylorMade Qi4D driver setup for the BMW Championship, dropping to an 8.0-degree loft head.
Despite the adjustment, the win reinforces the marketability of the specific Ping model. Meanwhile, TaylorMade’s Qi4D driver continues to dominate tour stats, having now claimed victories in two men’s majors, four of the five women’s majors, and the first two FedEx Cup Playoff events.
