NBC Sports Expands Digital Programming with ‘Fanta in 60’ Debut

Comcast Corporation’s NBC Sports division is set to debut a new weekly talk show, *Fanta in 60*, featuring broadcaster John Fanta. The program launches Monday night at 6 p.m. ET, available exclusively on Peacock and the NBC Sports NOW FAST channel. The move adds to the growing slate of digital-first content offered by the media conglomerate.

In an interview discussing the launch, Fanta outlined his vision for the show, which aims to blend sports commentary with interactive fan engagement. Fanta emphasized that while he is widely recognized for his college basketball play-by-play work, he joined NBC specifically to broaden his portfolio beyond a single sport. He stated that the weekly show is designed to complement his existing duties rather than replace them, allowing him to continue his reporting and play-by-play responsibilities.

The program intends to differentiate itself through high emotion and direct audience interaction. Fanta revealed plans to introduce a dedicated voicemail line to gather listener opinions on current sports headlines and other topics. He aims to integrate these audio clips with comments from social media platforms like X and YouTube, creating a feedback loop between digital communities and linear television.

Looking ahead, Fanta also confirmed that his role at NBC will extend to the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. This long-term alignment with the company’s premier event underscores NBC’s strategy of utilizing its talent across various high-profile verticals, from daily digital talk shows to global sports spectacles.

Comcast Corporation (CMCSA) was trading at $26.61 on Tuesday, reflecting a decline of 1.93% from the previous close. The company has a market capitalization of approximately $96.01 billion and operates within the Communication Services sector and Telecom Services industry.
