Pogacar Secures Third Vuelta Stage Win After Dramatic Descent

Following the incident, the two riders collaborated on the flat approach to the finish, bridging the gap to the chasers. Pogacar’s superior sprinting prowess ultimately decided the stage, with Mas settling for second place on the day. The result reshuffled the overall standings, with Mas moving into second place ahead of Primoz Roglic, who finished 46 seconds behind the leading pair.

Elsewhere, the race saw a withdrawal from Welsh rider Josh Tarling. The Netcompany Ineos rider abandoned the event with roughly 120 kilometers remaining. His team praised his bravery in competing so soon after the death of his brother, Finlay, who was killed in a collision during the Tour of Portugal two weeks ago. Tarling had previously performed well in the opening individual time trial, finishing third.
