The UConn Huskies have secured a headline-maker for their 2027 recruiting class. NaVarro Bowman Jr., a five-star guard from Southern California, has committed to the program, per a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday. He is the first player to pledge to UConn in the 2027 cycle.

Bowman is regarded as the top-ranked player in California by 247 Sports and picked the Huskies over offers that included Texas and Arizona. The 6-foot-3 guard attends Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks High School, where he averaged 22.5 points, five assists and 4.9 rebounds per game last season. In 2024, he guided the Knights to the CIF SoCal Open Division championship game, where the team fell to Roosevelt High and star Brayden Burries.
