Fox Sports commentator Nick Wright, one of the most vocal Kansas City Chiefs supporters on national television, took a victory lap of his own after the Chiefs opened their season with a dominant win over the Denver Broncos.

Wright, who hosts his show on Fox Corporation programming, has long been unapologetic about his Chiefs fandom. He picked Kansas City to win the Super Bowl this season — including a hypothetical matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles that would echo the 2023 title game — a prediction that drew plenty of skepticism from fellow analysts.

Doubters had reason to point to an uneven outlook. Patrick Mahomes suffered an ACL injury last season, and the Chiefs were already trending toward missing the playoffs before he went down, snapping a remarkable run of nine consecutive AFC West titles, seven straight AFC Championship Game appearances, and five Super Bowl trips in six seasons.

Wright, however, not only predicted a playoff return but a championship, and the season-opening rout of Denver gave him an opportunity to respond to his critics.

“NEVER A DOUBT,” Wright wrote on social media, adding that after the franchise’s rare down year, “we’re back to normal. The AFC goes thru KC.”

He also said he never wavered on Mahomes’ recovery, quipping that the quarterback “was always going to be dancing at Travis [Kelce] and Taylor [Swift’s] wedding… starting in Week 1… and running in the Chiefs’ first touchdown of the season. What a legend.”

The comments underscore Fox’s sports-heavy programming strategy. The company, which operates in Cable Network Programming and Television, generates significant audience engagement from opinion-driven NFL commentary. Fox shares closed at $68.53, up 3.93% from the prior close of $65.94, valuing the company at roughly $26.85 billion.

One win does not settle the debate over Kansas City’s ceiling this season, but Wright’s early call is off to the start he wanted — and his social media following will surely keep the receipts.
