Slugger Kyle Schwarber, who went hitless in Thursday’s win but worked a walk, told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports that the path back to August’s production is about sticking to fundamentals rather than overhauling anything.

“We know there’s gonna be ebbs and flows of the year and we’re down to crunch time,” Schwarber said. “We’re focusing on the things we’re good at, the things we do really well. Just stay the course on those.”

Schwarber emphasized a team-first approach at the plate, pointing to the depth of quality hitters throughout the lineup. “We know the capabilities that we have in continuing to grind guys out. Continuing to pass the baton and trust the guy behind you and play our style of game and execute that,” he said. “If we focus on those things, good things will happen.”

For now, the club’s cushion in the Wild Card race gives Schwarber and teammates room to work through the slump without immediate pressure on their playoff position.
