This Week in Sports Trivia: Oct. 1, 2026
As the MLB postseason took off with wild-card action this week — highlighted by another classic Yankees-Red Sox showdown — the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers were among those with byes, waiting and watching to see whom they would face in the division series.
Can anyone stop the star-studded cast from Chavez Ravine? There seems to be some sense that the dynasty might be winding down. In fact, only 16 percent of The Athletic staffers surveyed have L.A. pulling off a three-peat, with only 20 percent having them in the Fall Classic at all. (A lot of love for the Milwaukee Brewers!)
While you ponder the foolhardiness of picking against the Dodgers, dive in and take a shot at this week’s quiz, which will touch on baseball and a whole lot more.
And while you’re at it, check out our Connections: Sports Edition game, too!
