WWE SmackDown live results (Oct. 2): Updates, grades for Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens vs. Johnny Gargano

"WWE SmackDown" is in Denver on this Friday, Oct. 2, for Cody Rhodes’ much-anticipated return and the final Money In the Bank qualifying matches. Follow tonight’s "WWE SmackDown" live results and play-by-play to catch all the action here.

WWE’s annual multi-person ladder matches are right around the corner, and there’s a single spot left for both the men’s and women’s fields. After all the world title chaos as of late, someone is getting left out of a chance at the MITB briefcase when Cody Rhodes takes on Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano tonight. The winner will join a loaded field that already includes CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Penta, Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans.

On the women’s side, Tatum Paxley will still get her chance tonight after being removed from one of the previous triple-threat qualifiers. Standing in her way will be former world champion Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae. There is significantly higher potential for a fresh-faced future champion out of the women’s match, which currently consists of Sol Ruca, Lola Vice, Jacy Jayne, Roxanne Perez and Lash Legend.

Once again, WWE has listed Blake Monroe’s official in-ring debut to take place this Friday in a match with Giulia. Judging by how this storyline has been dragged out since her main roster arrival, though, we won’t hold our breath.

Check out Friday night’s full "WWE SmackDown" lineup below, which starts at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network:
