The winner: Casey O’Neill def. Eduarda Moura at UFC 331
Casey O’Neill pulled off one of the slickest finishes of the year on the prelims of UFC 331.
Things weren’t going O’Neill’s way until they all came together in one huge finishing moment at 3:22 of Round 1, as she locked in an armbar on Eduarda Moura to end the women’s flyweight bout in spectacular fashion.
O’Neill (12-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) was in trouble from the first exchange after Moura (12-3 MMA, 3-3 UFC) secured an early takedown. Moura immediately went to work on the ground, looking for ground-and-pound and submission attempts. O’Neill was in danger from an anaconda choke, but remained calm and worked her way out of it, and even found herself in some awkward positions on the bottom.
Then, out of nowhere, O’Neill managed to get both feet on Moura’s hips, elevate her in the air, and lock in an armbar on the way down. It was an incredibly slick helicopter armbar sequence that forced Moura to immediately tap.
INSANE TRANSITION TO ARMBAR FOR CASEY O’NEILL 🔥
