Frustrated Eagles fans sound off to local news on team, Nick Sirianni

October 5, 2026 · by SPW Pipeline

Everything was going quite well over the first 52 minutes of play for the Philadelphia Eagles in their massive matchup with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. A stifling defense had neutralized Matthew Stafford and the hometown fans were enjoying a comfortable 20-10 cushion. Then Nick Siranni decided to go for the kill by opting to go for it on fourth-and-goal from two yards out. Jalen Hurts’ pass fell incomplete and the Rams used that momentum to mount 14 unanswered points to escape Lincoln Financial field with a victory that left Sean McVay skipping.

No fanbase enjoys losing. And no fanbase would be okay with a meltdown like the one that dropped the Eagles to 2-2. In Philadelphia, they’ll just tell you about it in a colorful way.

So the city’s CBS affiliate decided to conduct some person-on-the-street interviews with sour and salty fans after the stunning loss. They were rewarded with rich and compelling content.

Spoiler alert: there were some very unhappy people walking back to their transportation.

🚨THIS IS HILARIOUS🚨 #Eagles fans were NOT happy with Nick Sirianni’s coaching performance during Philadelphia’s 24-20 loss to the #Rams. “What’s happening at halftime? Are we eating meatball subs?” This is the most Philly reaction imaginable. 💀💀💀 https://t.co/lMTp9UH30o

Oh yeah, and Saquon Barkley got hurt. Think of how depressed these viewers were when they remembered that on the long trip home. Has to be a brutal scene at all Philly area businesses this morning.

The Eagles’ recent run of success had played out against near constant background noise of drama and discontent. If there’s good news it’s that the organization has been able to persevere through all the distractions and disappointments. There’s no reason to think this year will be any different as Sirianni’s side looks more than capable of getting back to the playoff.

It’s natural to blast a coach after something blows up spectacularly and it ends in loss. Yet it’s really hard to quibble with his fourth-down decision. Gaining two yards would have effectively secured victory and the Rams had to go 98 yards just to cut into the lead. Obviously it didn’t work out but nine time out of 10 that feels like an acceptable gamble.

Try telling that to these folks, though. Won’t go so well.
