Update 10/6: Jackson sprained his left ankle against the Titans, and his status for Baltimore’s Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons is in jeopardy. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that there’s “only an outside chance” Jackson can play against the Falcons. If he can’t go, Tyler Huntley is next up on the depth chart. The good news for the Ravens is that Jackson’s injury isn’t considered serious, according to Rapoport. There’s a chance he could miss multiple games, though. After Atlanta, the Ravens face Cleveland on the road, Cincinnati at home, and Buffalo on the road. Baltimore is in a good spot at 3-1 right now, tied with the Browns atop the AFC North. They need to be careful with Jackson so they don’t risk aggravating the injury later in the season.

Here’s the full report from Rapoport.

Postgame update: Jackson did not return as the Ravens went on to beat the Titans, 24-18. Jackson left the stadium in a protective boot. Head coach Jessie Minter updated Jackson’s condition after the game, saying “we don’t know enough about it right now” when asked how Jackson’s ankle is feeling. Minter said there was discussion about putting Jackson back in the game, but he stayed on the bench while Baltimore did just enough to win. Jackson is believed to be day-to-day, according to insider Ian Rapoport.

Jesse Minter on Lamar Jackson’s injury:

"He was just dealing with a little bit of an ankle. We hope … we don’t know enough about it right now. We’ll have to see where that’s at."

Could he have come back in the game if really needed?

Lamar Jackson is questionable to return after spraining his ankle against the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. Jackson was tripped up by a Titans defender during the third quarter and hurt his ankle on the play. He was replaced by Tyler Huntley at QB.

Baltimore was already up 24-7 at the time of the injury. Jackson is 15-of-20 for 222 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions through the air so far.

The Ravens are in full control against Tennessee, and probably won’t even need Jackson to finish off this win. The Titans entered the week as one of four winless teams throughout the NFL this season.
