Which Premier League players got injured during the international break?

The current international break has stretched well beyond what fans are used to.

But the three-week break is set to end now, as football enthusiasts eagerly wait for the Premier League action to resume this weekend.

The English top-flight clubs will be hoping their star players remain healthy throughout the international break.

But some have already sustained injuries while representing their respective nations.

Below we have listed the players who got injured during the international break.

Kai Havertz Christos Tzolis and Ezri Konsa (Arsenal)

Havertz picked up an injury during Germany’s Nations League opener with the Netherlands. An exact timeframe for his return has not yet been shared, but he will likely remain sidelined for a few weeks.

Tzolis was forced off in the 18th minute of the match between Greece and the Netherlands last week. He could be out of action for around three weeks.

Konsa featured in England’s 7-0 win against Croatia but withdrew from the squad to play Czechia with an injury.

Zion Suzuki (Aston Villa)

Suzuki was not part of Japan’s matchday squad against Uruguay after suffering a rib injury. But he recovered to return to action for his country in their next game.

Mikkel Damsgaard and Alex Scott (Bournemouth)

Damsgaard missed Denmark’s Nations League victory over Wales last weekend after suffering an ankle issue against Portugal.

Meanwhile, Scott has been ruled out of England’s clash against Czechia due to an injury before the 7-0 thrashing of Croatia.

Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo (Liverpool)

Isak picked up a minor injury during the international break. He has returned to Liverpool for further assessment.

The Reds are also sweating over the fitness of Gakpo, who went off injured during the opening half of the Netherlands’ match against Serbia.

Erling Haaland and Nico O’Reilly (Manchester City)

O’Reilly has withdrawn from the England squad after picking up a training ground injury.

Haaland sparked concerns about his fitness after limping out of Norway’s clash against Portugal on Sunday. But Norway boss Ståle Solbakken has allayed fears of the Man City supporters by saying he was simply struggling with fatigue.

Patrick Dorgu and Noussair Mazraoui (Manchester United)

Dorgu limped out of Denmark’s match against Wales. He has returned to United, the result of which is yet to be revealed.

Mazraoui is also back at United after being forced out of Morocco’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho.

Dan Ballard and Brian Brobbey (Sunderland)

Sunderland are left sweating over the fitness of Dan Ballard and Brian Brobbey.

Ballard suffered a hamstring injury during Northern Ireland’s win over Georgia, while Brobbey was forced off in the 35th minute of the match between the Netherlands and Germany.

Jan Paul van Hecke and Micky van de Ven (Tottenham Hotspur)

Van Hecke sustained an injury during training, forcing him to withdraw from the national squad.

Van de Ven was subbed off during the Netherlands’ win over Serbia, but head coach Xavi Hernandez confirmed later his injury was not of a serious nature.
