Mateus Soares showed he has power in his hands at Dana White’s Contender Series 95, and it might lead to a UFC contract.
Soares (12-2) dropped Ryuho Miyaguchi (7-2) with a huge right hand early in their bantamweight bout Tuesday at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. He swarmed with a couple extra punches before the referee pulled him off for the TKO at the XX mark of Round 1.

After the fight, the 22-year-old UFC prospect was excited after securing his 10th knockout win out of a dozen career wins. He hopes to bring more of that against the top fighters in the world.
"I can believe I’m here," Soares said through an interpreter in his post-fight interview with Laura Sanko. "I’ve been dreaming of this since I was seven years old."
