Will Jayden Daniels play in Week 5 against the New York Giants?

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome elbow injury in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys. Many thought Daniels would be out for a long time, but ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that Daniels will start against the New York Giants in Week 5. This is a major boost for the Commanders, who were down to a third-string quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis. Marcus Mariota suffered a knee injury in their Week 4 tilt against the Indianapolis Colts, and things looked very bleak for the Commanders. This makes this NFC East duel a lot more interesting and intriguing.

Commanders fans can breathe a little easier as Jayden Daniels will be QB1 for their squad against their NFC East rival. Daniels is “full go,” according to Commanders offensive coordinator David Blough.

The LSU product only missed two games and will be looking to knock off the Giants, who currently lead their division. Daniels had done a great job of protecting the ball through the first two games. He didn’t throw an interception and had tossed three touchdown passes before the injury.

It would be risky to start #5 in fantasy this week because of his injury history and potential rust. He’s projected to get around 19 points this week.

The Giants’ defense is allowing 19.8 PPG and 314.2 total yards per game, ranking ninth in the NFL right now.

He is a perfect 3-0 in his career against the Giants. He hasn’t thrown an INT against New York while recording 668 passing yards and three touchdown passes.
