Packers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave out for the season, per report
GREEN BAY – The debut season is over for Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave.
Tests confirmed he suffered a torn Achilles to end his season, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Hargrave went down and was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter of the Packers’ 31-7 victory over the rival Chicago Bears.
PACKERS NEWS: Christian Watson isn’t just No. 1 receiver for Packers. He’s becoming NFL elite.
The 33-year-old signed a two-year, $23-million deal with the Packers in March after spending the 2025 season with the Minnesota Vikings. Hargrave had 52 tackles, 3.5 sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 16 games for the Vikings last season.
Hargrave played in four of the Packers‘ first five games, missing the Week 2 game against the New York Jets with a knee injury and concussion.
He recorded six total tackles (two solo) and one pass defended for the Packers.
The Packers defense now has suffered two Achilles injuries in as many games, coming a week after star linebacker Edgerrin Cooper went down against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
