Brock Purdy is having quite an impressive season for the San Francisco 49ers so far.

The 49ers are one of just three teams still unbeaten in 2026/27 alongside the Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) and the Minnesota Vikings (5-0).

Just like the Chiefs, the 49ers have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and while Patrick Mahomes and other top-end quarterbacks may be on a similar level to Purdy, Dan Orlovsky does not believe there is a QB in the NFL currently who is able to play in structure and out of structure as well as Brock.

Brock Purdy’s ability to play in structure and out of structure praised

In a clip shared by Big Day ESPN on X/Twitter, he explained: “No one is playing quarterback the way he [Purdy] is. What I mean by that is, I don’t think there’s a quarterback in football right now that plays in structure and out of structure as well as Brock Purdy does.

“We have out-of-structure guys that make plays, broken plays, athletic plays, and they’re just as good as Brock.

“And then we have guys that play in structure within the timing, the rhythm of the offense that are very similar to Brock.

“No one is doing both at that level when it comes to his style.”

After such a prolific start to the season, there is already talk about the 49ers ace being this year’s MVP.

He may face some competition from the likes of Mahomes, Josh Allen and more, but Purdy has been named the MVP frontrunner by Skip Bayless recently.

Tom Brady has also lauded the 49ers star amid his impressive 2026/27 to date.
