Jalen Hurts will miss the rest of the season after doctors discovered multiple blood clots in the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback’s lungs, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Hurts will undergo treatment for the blood clots that will take at least three months, according to Rapoport.
Hurts’ agent, Nicole Lynn, and the Eagles released a statement Monday detailing Hurts’ medical status.

Hurts is “clinically stable and has no significant functional limitations,” according to the statement from Lynn and the Eagles, but will not be allowed to participate in football activities while on anticoagulation medication.
After initially being diagnosed with a superficial clot in his calf, Hurts underwent further examination that revealed “a deep vein thrombosis, as well as bilateral pulmonary emboli,” according to the statement.
“Jalen’s prognosis is very good, and we expect a full recovery,” the statement said. “We anticipate that he will have the opportunity to resume contact football activities when off the blood thinners. In the meantime, he will remain active around the team and continue to condition. More importantly, we anticipate that he will have no long-term effects.”
