Liam Coen evaluates Travis Hunter’s play in Jaguars v. Texans game

The outcome on Sunday wasn’t what the Jacksonville Jaguars had hoped for, but this latest matchup with the Houston Texans showcased the high-end two-way impact that Travis Hunter can have.

Down 10 points in the fourth quarter, Trevor Lawrence connected with Hunter twice, once on a 26-yard gain and then again later on for a 7-yard score.

On the ensuring Texans’ offensive drive, with Houston about to make it a two-score game, Hunter undercut a throw from CJ Stroud, coming away with the interception in the end zone.

Following the game, Liam Coen shared what he saw from Hunter.

"[Hunter] made some critical plays for us on both sides of the football," Coen said, via ESPN. "… We’ve got to continue to get him the ball and keep building off of it and making sure it fits within the rhythm and flow of the game. But he definitely helped put us in a position to win that game today."

You could tell that there was a concerted effort to get Hunter more involved on offense in this game. He went on to record a season-high four receptions for 59 yards.

Defensively, Hunter continued to shoulder a larger role, playing 62 offensive snaps. He allowed just two receptions on four targets, but did surrender a 42-yard catch to Nico Collins. Hunter was in on four total tackles as well.

Perhaps we will continue to see Hunter’s role on offense continue to expand moving forward.

"Was proud of the way [Hunter] competed," Coen said. "[He] made some plays for us on offense and we’ve got to keep building off of it."
