Luke Bryan’s son Bo is recovering from an injury after being sacked during a high school football game in Tennessee.
Thomas “Bo” Boyer Bryan, the 18-year-old son of the country star, was sacked during the Battle Ground Academy game against Pope John Paul II High School on Friday, Oct. 16, according to The Tennessean.
The outlet reported that Bo hit the ground and landed on his right shoulder, and medics and trainers opted to put his arm in a sling and kept his shoulder wrapped as he sat on the sidelines for the rest of the game.
The following day, the teenage quarterback confirmed that he had broken his collarbone via his Instagram Stories, perUSA Today. “Broke my collarbone last night,” he wrote. “Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We will be back.”

Speaking with the local outlet on game night, Bo — who is the starting quarterback and is considered one of the top high school quarterbacks in the region with 2,006 yards passing, 30 touchdowns and three interceptions to date — said that two players landed on him after the sack.
“I thought it was just a stinger when I hit the ground,” he explained. “Once I got up I knew something was wrong. When I got to the sideline, I really knew something was wrong.”
“I don’t know what we’re looking at yet,” BGA coach Bobby Bentley told TheTennessean. “We’ll have to figure this thing out. That’s the challenge for us as a team and as coaches. What do we do? How do we do it? We’re going to figure it out.”

Bryan has previously shared his support for his eldest son’s budding football career. Chatting with USA Today High School Sports in September after another high school matchup, the country star said he was “super impressed” with his son’s performance.
“This senior year, he’s learning as he goes,” Bryan said. “Everything that happens to him … this year is the first time he’s had all these pressure situations and ups and downs.”
“You see the hard work he puts in, and you just want the hard work to pay off. Nights like tonight is when you get to celebrate that. The main thing is to see his hard work and his commitment and his love for the game,” he added. “I’m just so proud of him.”
