Red Wings star Dylan Larkin expands trade list to 10 teams, per report
Disgruntled Detroit Red Wings star Dylan Larkin has expanded his list of desired trade destinations once again, with the number growing to 10, according to a new ESPN report.
Larkin, the team’s No. 1 center, was removed as Red Wings captain after he requested a trade following the 2025-26 season, in which Detroit missed the playoffs for the 10th consecutive time.
In the fourth year of an eight-year, $69.6 million contract, he has a no-trade clause in effect through next season.
The Detroit Free Press, part of the USA TODAY Network, reported last month that Larkin initially increased his list of acceptable teams from the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild and Vegas Golden Knights to include the Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning and Washington Capitals.
The Oct. 20 ESPN report added three more teams to the mix: the Carolina Hurricanes, New Jersey Devils and Utah Mammoth.
Efforts to trade Larkin became more complicated during the offseason when Steve Yzerman stepped aside as general manager and Shawn Horcoff was named interim GM. So far, attempts to move Larkin have been unsuccessful.
The longtime captain received a heavy chorus of boos when he was introduced at the team’s 2026-27 home opener.
Larkin, 30, had two assists in Tuesday night’s 4-3 shooutout loss to the Seattle Kraken and has one goal and four assists in the Red Wings’ first seven games of the season.
