The Seattle Seahawks, through the first six weeks of the 2026 NFL season, have had a running back problem. Jadarian Price has been disappointing, and he’s on injured reserve right now. Emmanuel Wilson and George Holani haven’t really impressed either.
They’ve held down the fort as Seattle’s gotten off to a 3-3 record, but with the team now set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in primetime for Kenneth Walker III’s first game against his former team, the Seahawks got some good news on their backfield.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is reporting that the Seahawks are activating RB Zach Charbonnet off the PUP list, bringing him back for Week 7 and giving him a chance to suit up to help the shaky Seattle backfield when they go up against Walker this week.
Seahawks get good news as Zach Charbonnet activated off PUP
"The Seahawks have activated RB Zach Charbonnet from the PUP list, a significant move," Rapoport reported Thursday.
This is a significant move for the Seahawks indeed, as getting Charbonnet back to a backfield that has severely underwhelmed to begin the season is huge news.
It’s especially great timing with Walker on the other side of the game this week, as their Super Bowl MVP has been a true superstar for the Chiefs this season.
While Wilson and Holani have had their nice moments through the first six weeks of the season, the Seahawks backfield is in dire need of a true star to lead the way.

Charbonnet can be just that for the Seahawks, and with this news that he’s been activated off the PUP list, he might finally be back in action Sunday against the Chiefs.
But it’s still worth noting that he’s coming off a serious injury late last season and might not be at 100% strength just yet. He isn’t even a lock to play in Week 7, as just because he’s been activated doesn’t mean he’ll play.
Seattle had to activate him on Thursday, so this move was expected. Still, it’s a great sign that Charbonnet is off the PUP list and completely on the Seahawks’ 53-man roster.
With a matchup against the Chiefs and Walker on tap on Sunday night, this is some very timely news for the Seahawks with their RB1 coming back this season.
