Dak Prescott sends heartfelt message to Jalen Hurts ahead of Eagles-Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has reached out to Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts following the serious health issues that will sideline him for the remainder of the 2026 NFL season.

Prescott shared his message ahead of Monday’s NFC East matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, expressing concern for Hurts and wishing him a speedy recovery.

Hurts was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis and blood clots in both lungs. He is receiving treatment with blood thinners and cannot participate in contact activities during treatment.

Prescott acknowledged the seriousness of Hurts’ condition, describing it as a life-or-death situation. He also stressed that players must sometimes step away from the game to prioritize their health.

“That’s a life or death type situation and it’s a blessing that we get to play this game and inspire so many, but things happen in life and you’ve got to take a step back,” Prescott said.

The Cowboys quarterback added that he hopes Hurts receives the best medical care, recovers quickly and eventually returns to the game.

Hurts is expected to miss the remainder of the season, with the Eagles turning to backup quarterback Tanner McKee in his absence. The Cowboys will face Philadelphia on Monday as the Eagles continue their season without their starting quarterback.
