Man Utd staff believe only one Red ‘emerged with credit’ after Como display – it wasn’t the goalscorer
Amad Diallo was perhaps Manchester United’s brightest spark in Wednesday’s defeat to Como, albeit he didn’t have much competition.
The attacker started the tie on the bench but was introduced to the action at half-time, replacing Matheus Cunha for the second half.

United were trailing 2-0 by the break, so Amad was already facing a mammoth task to try and turn the game around.
He proceeded to earn the highest FotMob rating of any United player, and assisted Joshua Zirkzee for his consolation goal in injury time.
Amad recorded the most touches in the opposition’s box (seven) and the most dribbles (five), making it no surprise he ranked above the rest of his teammates come the full-time whistle.
ESPN’s Rob Dawson claims that Red Devils staff believe the Ivorian was the only United player to have ‘emerged with any credit’.
You’d imagine his efforts will have earned him a starting spot for Sunday’s clash with Bournemouth at Old Trafford, which is now looking like a decisive outing for Michael Carrick and his future in the dugout.

“I 100% take responsibility for the overall team and the performance. That’s where it stops,” Carrick said after the loss. “It stops with me, and I’m absolutely fine with that.
“I accept that totally. But as a supporter of this football club for so long, to see a performance like that is unacceptable, I have to say.
“I’m angry, to be honest. My whole life is wrapped around this. I didn’t like what I’ve seen tonight. I’ve not given my own position any thought.”
After locking horns with the Cherries this weekend, United travel to face Chelsea on Saturday, October 31.
