DFS – Fantasy Domination Primetime Slate – Week 7
Follow along every weekend as I share my favorite Primetime Slate lineups (Sunday night to Monday night), including a complete breakdown of all fantasy-relevant players on the slate.
Recommended Primetime DFS lineups
DK Lineup: QB Sam Darnold ($5.2k), RB Kenneth Walker III ($9.0k), RB Javonte Williams ($7.3k), WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($8.6k), WR Ryan Flournoy ($4.5k), WR Makai Lemon ($3.8k), TE AJ Barner ($3.3k), FLEX Emanuel Wilson ($5.3k), DST Philadelphia Eagles ($2.8k)
FD Lineup: QB Sam Darnold ($7.3k), RB Kenneth Walker III ($9.3k), RB Javonte Williams ($7.5k), WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($9.5k), WR Xavier Worthy ($6.0k), WR Ryan Flournoy ($5.4k), TE Travis Kelce ($5.6k), FLEX Dallas Goedert ($5.2k), DST Dallas Cowboys ($3.8k)
Sam Darnold (QB3) will be my favorite choice because of his cost (and for the Jaxon Smith-Njigba stack). I have no problem pivoting to Patrick Mahomes (QB1) or Dak Prescott (QB2), but both make JSN ownership trickier. The Eagles allowed Tanner McKee (QB4) to chuck the ball 45 times last week, so the team has some faith in him. Unfortunately, he only connected on 26 of those passes, and now he may have lost his top receiver to injury. I’ll have some what-the-heck exposure to him, but I cannot trust him for more than 225-2, with virtually zero rushing upside.
Kenneth Walker III will approach 75% ownership at RB1 in the revenge game. He has been nothing short of MVP-grade to start the season. A 150-2 day is in play as the Chiefs will give him every opportunity to embarrass his former team. RB2 will come down to either Javonte Williams (RB2) or Saquon Barkley (RB3 – hamstring). Barkley remains questionable going into the weekend, so check for updates before deploying him. If Barkley is out, Dameon Pierce (RB5) becomes a potential RB2 pivot. I could also see using him at FLEX.
Zach Charbonnet (IR – ACL) will not return this week. If he had, it would have pushed both Emanuel Wilson (RB4) and George Holani (RB6) down to just minor FLEX appeal. With Charbonnet out, I will be much more confident using them at FLEX. I do not expect either depth running back, Emmett Johnson (RB7) or Tyler Goodson (RB8), to have much value. At best, they both could be roster-fillers in Showdown.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR1) is the clear WR1 on this slate. The only realistic pivot would be CeeDee Lamb (WR2). The only legit way to roster both of them would be by fading Kenneth Walker, and you don’t want to do that. DeVonta Smith (WR3 – hamstring) reinjured his hamstring and wasn’t practicing coming into the weekend. If he plays, he will probably see a lot of coverage by Joey Porter Jr. None of this brings me joy. I don’t see any way that I can trust him here. The only other WR1 option would be George Pickens (WR4 – shoulder). I don’t think his shoulder issue will affect him, but he will always be second fiddle to Lamb, and he still may see a fair amount of coverage by Quinyon Mitchell (who has previously shadowed him). A healthy Smith or Pickens could also fill the WR2 role, but fitting either under the cap will be challenging. The smarter option at WR2 would be to use Xavier Worthy (WR5) or Dontayvion Wicks (WR6 – ankle), assuming the latter plays.
WR3 has many options to choose from. Ryan Flournoy (WR7) and Makai Lemon (WR8) are my favorite choices. I can also see using either Cooper Kupp (WR9) or Rashid Shaheed (WR10) as either a third-leg to a Darnold stack, or as a naked play if you faded JSN. Injuries to the Eagles and Chiefs will also put Cyrus Allen (WR11), Darius Cooper (WR12) and Jalen Royals (WR13) in play. These will be three of my favorite Showdown value plays. If he can return to action, KaVontae Turpin (WR14 – ribs) would also be an option. Right now, it appears he will miss this game. The only other dart throw to consider for Showdown is Andrew Armstrong (WR15).
We have two elite tight end plays and two solid tight end plays this week. Travis Kelce (TE1) should see a huge target share with all the Chiefs’ injuries. Dallas Goedert (TE2 – knee) had a great game last week, but he has missed multiple practices this week because of a knee injury, and he is just two games removed from an MCL injury. If he plays, Goedert will be my favorite option because he is cheaper than Kelce, but I might just play both of them. If Goedert is out, Zach Ertz (TE8) and Eli Stowers (TE6 – IR – quad) would see more targets and could be in play as FLEX options if you spend too much elsewhere. Jake Ferguson (TE3) and AJ Barner (TE4) both have low salaries (and relatively low floors), but both can post 4-50-1 any week. I will have minimal exposure to both in lineups where I need to save some money.
Last week, Noah Gray (TE5) caught all three of his targets. I won’t use him in the main contest, but he needs to be on your Showdown rosters. The only other Showdown-exclusive option would be Brevyn Spann-Ford (TE7).
The Kansas City Chiefs Defense (DEF1) is the safest play on this slate. I will play them if I can afford them. The Seattle Seahawks Defense (DEF2) is arguably the best NFL defense on the slate, but they are facing a strong KC offense. I will have minor exposure to them, but prefer pivoting to the cheaper options if I don’t use KC. The Dallas Cowboys Defense (DEF3) is not very good, but they are facing the unproven quarterback McKee, making them my early favorite play at this position. I won’t have much exposure to the Philadelphia Eagles Defense (DEF4). That said, Dak Prescott has been making some foolish plays lately, so they may nab some turnovers.
